Brugse SportZot brings the character of a proper Belgian blonde beer into an alcohol free format, without simply trying to imitate the style.
Brewed by Brouwerij De Halve Maan in Bruges, SportZot begins life as the brewery's famous Brugse Zot Blond, made using four different malts and two aromatic hop varieties.
Once brewed, the alcohol is gently removed using a specially developed reverse osmosis filtration process. This takes place at low temperatures, helping preserve the beer's original aromas and flavour while reducing the finished beer to just 0.4% ABV.
Pour it and you get a bright, clear golden blonde beer with a fruity and gently spicy aroma. The palate combines soft malt character with aromatic hops before finishing cleanly with a delicate, refreshing bitterness.
It is recognisably Belgian, satisfyingly beer-like and a cracking choice for anyone looking for something more characterful than a standard alcohol free lager.
